Creating Social Posts

Pono's post creation flow uses your Brand Brain and tone settings to generate on-brand social media content — captions, hashtags, and imagery guidance — for any platform.

Starting a New Post

  1. Go to Content in the navigation.
  2. Tap + New Post (or tap a date in the Content Calendar and select + New Post).
  3. The post creation flow will begin.

Post Creation Steps

Step 1: Choose a Platform

Select the target social media platform (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook). The AI adapts the post format and tone to suit the selected platform.

Step 2: Define Content Focus

Choose or describe the content focus for this post:

  • Promotional (product or offer)
  • Educational (tips, how-to)
  • Engagement (question, poll, story)
  • Brand awareness (values, culture, behind the scenes)

Step 3: Generate Content

Tap Generate and the AI will produce:

  • A caption tailored to your brand tone
  • Suggested hashtags
  • A content direction or hook idea

Review the output and edit as needed.

Step 4: Select Brand Assets

Choose imagery or graphics to accompany the post:

  • Upload from your device
  • Select from your Brand Assets library
  • Use a Graphic (pre-designed visual suggestion)

See Mood Board for managing visual inspiration.

Step 5: Select Brand Tone (Optional Override)

If this post requires a different tone from your default Brand Brain tone, tap Select Brand Tone and choose an alternate tone for this post only.

Step 6: Schedule or Save

  • Schedule — Pick a date and time to post. The post will appear on your Content Calendar.
  • Save as Draft — Save for later without scheduling.
  • Mark as Final — Mark as approved and ready to publish.

Editing a Post

  1. Open the post from the Content Calendar or the post list.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Make changes to the caption, hashtags, or imagery.
  4. Save.

Content Ideas

Before creating a post, tap Ideas in the Content section to browse AI-generated content ideas based on your Brand Brain and upcoming calendar slots. Tap any idea to turn it into a full post.
