Managing Roadmap Sections

Sections are the organizational backbone of your roadmap. They group related initiatives together, making the roadmap easy to scan and present.

Adding a Section

  1. Open a roadmap.
  2. Tap + Add Section at the bottom of the roadmap or between existing sections.
  3. Enter a section name.
  4. Tap Save.

Renaming a Section

  1. Tap the section header.
  2. Edit the title inline.
  3. Tap outside the field or press Enter to save.

Collapsing and Expanding Sections

Tap the arrow icon (or section header) to collapse or expand a section. Collapsing sections is useful when presenting a high-level view or navigating large roadmaps.

Reordering Sections

Press and hold the section header, then drag it to the new position.

Deleting a Section

  1. Tap the ... menu on the section header.
  2. Select Delete Section.
  3. Confirm.

Note: Deleting a section will also delete all items within it. This action cannot be undone.

Managing Items Within a Section

Action How
Add an item Tap + inside the section
Reorder items Press and hold, then drag
Edit an item Tap the item to open detail view
Delete an item Open item detail > tap ... > Delete
Mark as complete Tap the status indicator on the item

Section Best Practices

  • Use sections to represent functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Engineering) or strategic themes (Awareness, Conversion, Retention).
  • Keep section names short — 1–3 words is ideal for readability.
  • Aim for 3–7 items per section. More than that and the roadmap becomes overwhelming.
