AI Agents Overview
AI Agents in Pono are autonomous task-runners that can complete multi-step workflows on your behalf — going beyond a single prompt to plan, execute, and deliver results.
What Is an AI Agent?
A standard AI Chat interaction is one request, one response. An AI Agent can:
- Break a complex goal into steps
- Execute each step in sequence
- Make decisions along the way
- Return a finished result
Think of an agent as delegating a job, not just asking a question.
Accessing AI Agents
- Go to AI Chat in the navigation.
- Tap the Agents tab or the AI Agent option in the menu.
- Select an agent type or describe the task you want completed.
Common Agent Use Cases

How to Start an Agent Session
- Open the AI Agent page.
- Describe your goal in the input field. The more specific you are, the better the output.
- Tap Start.
- The agent will begin working. You can monitor progress in real time.
- When complete, the result will be available to save or export.
Agentic Threads
Agent sessions are stored as Agentic Threads — a persistent record of the agent's work. You can review what the agent did, see the steps it took, and pick up the work later. See Agentic Threads.
Tips for Working with Agents
- Give agents a clear, specific goal. Vague requests produce vague results.
- Review agent outputs carefully — agents are powerful but not infallible.
- Use agents for tasks where speed matters more than perfection, then refine the output.
