Creating a Growth Plan

A Growth Plan in Pono is an AI-assisted, multi-step document that maps out how you will grow your business over a defined period. It covers your goals, target audience, channels, tactics, and key metrics.

Starting a Growth Plan

  1. Go to Growth in the navigation.
  2. Tap + New Growth Plan (or Create Growth).
  3. The plan creation wizard will guide you through two phases.

Phase 1 — Define the Brief

You will be asked to provide:

  • Growth goal — What does success look like? (e.g., "Grow monthly recurring revenue by 30% in 90 days")
  • Current state — Where are you starting from? (e.g., current revenue, team size, active channels)
  • Target audience — Who are you trying to reach? (Defaults to your Brand Brain audience)
  • Available resources — Budget range, team capacity, time horizon
  • Priority channels — Which platforms or channels are you focusing on?

Be as specific as possible. The AI uses this brief — combined with your Brand Brain — to generate a plan that's relevant to your actual situation, not a generic template.

Phase 2 — Choose Your Growth Flow

After completing the brief, tap Choose Flow to select the growth strategy type that fits your goal:

Flow Best For
Audience Growth Increasing reach, followers, subscribers
Lead Generation Capturing qualified leads and building pipeline
Revenue Growth Increasing sales, conversions, and LTV
Brand Awareness Getting in front of new audiences
Retention & Engagement Keeping existing customers active and loyal

Select the flow that aligns with your primary goal.

Generating the Growth Plan

Tap Generate Plan. The AI will produce:

  • A strategic summary
  • Recommended channels and tactics
  • A prioritized action list
  • Suggested metrics to track

Reviewing the Growth Result

The Growth Result screen displays the full plan. Review each section:

  • Edit any recommendations that don't fit your situation
  • Add or remove tactics
  • Adjust the timeline

Saving the Plan

Tap Save to store the plan in your Growth section. You can return to it, update it, and track progress over time.
